Discover "Grands décors restaurés de Notre-Dame", the Mobilier National's new exhibition!
Since the fire on 15 April 2019, five years ago, you can see all the restorations carried out on the masterpieces of the interior decor of the building. In all, no fewer than twenty-one large-format paintings will be on show to the public, including thirteen grand "Mays".
The exhibition includes masterpieces by some of the most eminent painters of the 17th century, including Charles Le Brun, Laurent de La Hyre and Charles Poerson. Showcased to the public for the first time in two centuries in a unique scenography, these ensembles will subsequently be reinstalled in the cathedral. The restoration of the monumental choir carpet donated by Charles X by teams from the Mobilier National will enable you to see for yourself the efforts made to redesign the cathedral's interior. The new liturgical furniture and seats, selected following a competition launched by the Diocese of Paris in 2023, will also be on display to the public.
Through this exhibition, you can learn more about the technical and scientific skills of the restorers at the Centre de recherche et de restauration des musées de France (C2RMF), who helped save the pieces on display. These collections, presented from a new perspective, are a unique opportunity to discover the richness of the cathedral's decor before it is reopened.

- For groups of free visitors of less than 20 people: places can be purchased directly on site.
Speaking rights :
- For groups invoiced for 20 people or more, speaking rights are included in the price.
- For groups of less than 20 people, you must pay a €40 speaking fee.
