Discover your Guided tour

This guided tour of the Army Museum offers you a fascinating immersion into France's military history, within one of the most prestigious military history and art museums in the world.

You will start by discovering the Dôme Church, famous for housing the monumental tomb of Napoleon I since 1861, as well as the graves of other great military figures such as Turenne, Marshal Foch, and Vauban.

Your journey will continue in the former refectory at the heart of the new space "Les Invalides: Between History and Memories," which traces the history of the site from its foundation by Louis XIV in 1670 to the opening of the museum in 1905. You will notably see the plan-relief of Les Invalides, a unique scale model representing the building during the reign of Louis XIV, along with works and iconic objects related to the Dôme des Invalides.

At the end of this guided tour, you will have free access to the museum's permanent collections and temporary exhibitions, allowing you to further explore this historically rich site at your own pace. This visit is an invitation to travel to the heart of France's military history, in an exceptional setting that combines heritage and memory.
